The short version
Roll does not collect, store, or share any of your personal data. Your photos never leave your device. We don't have servers, accounts, or analytics. Your memories are yours alone.
Data storage
All photos, rolls, and app data are stored locally on your device using your browser's built-in storage (IndexedDB). Nothing is uploaded to the cloud or transmitted to any server.
Camera & location
Roll requests access to your camera to take photos and your location to stamp where each photo was taken. These permissions are optional and controlled entirely by your device. Location data is stored locally alongside your photos and is never transmitted.
Analytics & tracking
Roll does not use any analytics, tracking, or advertising services. No cookies, no pixels, no fingerprinting. We don't know who you are, and we like it that way.
Third-party services
Roll uses OpenStreetMap's Nominatim API to convert GPS coordinates into readable location names. Only coordinates are sent — no personal information. No other third-party services are used.
Data deletion
You can delete any roll and its photos at any time from within the app. Uninstalling the app or clearing your browser data will permanently remove all stored data.
